Land Access Stewards

Trained volunteers entrusted with caring for the land and supporting safe, responsible public access.

The Land Access Steward (LAS) initiative is a trained cadre of experienced volunteers entrusted with helping care for Heart-J Center's landscapes while supporting safe, responsible public access.

Land Access Stewards serve as ambassadors for the land, mentors for volunteers, leaders during stewardship projects, and partners in protecting the ecological, historical, and cultural integrity of the properties entrusted to Heart-J Center.

Their responsibilities extend beyond physical work. They help model stewardship, interpret the landscape, support educational experiences, reinforce responsible land use, and help ensure every visitor leaves with a deeper appreciation for the places they experience.

LAS is not an application step. It is an invitation extended on the basis of trust and long-term service.
