Youth Experiences

Confidence, curiosity, and leadership built outside, on 960 acres of Colorado foothills.

Our Educational Philosophy

The land is the classroom. Experience is the teacher

Meaningful learning happens when young people engage with the natural world directly. They read the land, follow a question outside, and carry the weight of a decision that affects other people.

Our role is to set up honest experiences, stay close enough to keep students safe, and then make room for reflection. Understanding comes from what students notice afterward, in conversation and in writing.

Stewardship is not taught as an abstract value here. Young people come to care for a landscape by knowing it, through relationship, familiarity, and the responsibility that grows from returning to the same ground season after season.

Curiosity

Questions come first. Students notice something real, then follow it until they understand it.

Resilience

Weather changes. Plans change. Learning to keep going is part of the curriculum.

Confidence

Competence earned outdoors carries back into classrooms, families, and friendships.

Stewardship

Students build a relationship with a place through direct experience, and stewardship grows from that connection.

Leadership

Everyone takes a turn making decisions that matter to the group.

Community

Shared work and shared meals build trust faster than any team-building exercise.

We measure what students carry home

01

Confidence

Students leave knowing they can do hard things. That belief is built through real tasks with real consequences, not praise.

02

Leadership

Young people practice making decisions for a group, listening well, and owning the outcome.

03

Connection

Time outdoors, away from screens, in the company of mentors and peers who know them.

04

Stewardship

A working relationship with one landscape, and the habits of care that travel anywhere.
